The Aston Martin Owners’ Club is currently overhauling its racing programme.

Nine years ago, the Club’s racing programme was out-sourced to reduce financial risk to the membership, but that model has now become unsustainable.

In 2019, AMOC Racing ran five race meetings, but the Oulton Park date in July drew a poor entry. Early options for 2020 include a reduction in the number of AMOC race meetings, with the addition of some guest races within race meetings run by other clubs.

Long-time Club member and racer Peter Snowdon has recently been appointed as Director Responsible for Racing to lead a bid to keep AMOC in racing. “We’re looking to offer a stream-lined skeleton calendar for 2020 with perhaps one or two main race meetings at Silverstone or Snetterton.

We are aiming to provide the opportunity to race at least four or five times a year for each grid,” said Snowdon. “We can then go forward in 2021. We are keen to continue to provide racing opportunities and maintain a near 80-year tradition.”
